G.R.I.T.S. Kidz Book Club is BACK!

Well, we’re almost back. Actually, we took a year-long hiatus from the book club during the 2007-2008 school year when we learned there was going to be construction work done to the the library we host our club meetings. All construction work is done and our summer vacation is officially over. School is back in session, and we cannot wait to return to the library this school year to read, share, and celebrate great books with each other and with all of our online friends!

In the meantime, notice anything different about us? No?!

Buzztone.com + GRITS Kidz = Racing Stripes, the Movie!

Racing Stripes

Buzztone.com and GRITS Kidz Book Club invites you to check out Warner Brothers’ new hilarious movie . . .

Racing Stripes!

RACING STRIPES is a tale of a baby zebra named Stripes (voiced by Frankie Muniz), who is accidentally abandoned by a traveling circus during a rainstorm. Stripes is discovered by horse trainer Nolan Walsh (Bruce Greenwood), who rescues Stripes and takes him home to live with him and his younger daughter Channing (Hayden Panettiere) on their farm.

Stripes and Channing dream of racing in the prestigious Kentucky Open. Believing if he could just get onto the track, Stripes knows he could leave all the other horses in the dust. What he doesn’t know is…he’s not exactly a horse. As he thrusts himself into a world of elite athletes, Stripes must prove he’s fast enough to run with the big horses if he is to land in the winner’s circle at the Kentucky Open. Some champions are born, not bred!

Lending their voices to this wonderful film are Snoop Dogg, Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Harvey, Dustin Hoffman, Joshua Jackson, Wendie Mallick, Mandy Moore, Joe Pantoliano, David Spade.
